PRODUCTS & SAFETY
About Our Products
Purity, who our oils are safe for, and what works in which diffuser.
Are your essential oils 100% pure and therapeutic grade?
Yes. Each oil is 100% pure and therapeutic grade, steam-distilled or cold-pressed, and bottled to preserve its natural potency. No fillers, no synthetic fragrances, no carrier oils — just the plant.
Are Scentreat oils safe for babies and kids?
We create our oils with families in mind, and many are gentle enough to diffuse around children when used as directed: short sessions, a well-ventilated room and the child free to leave. Always check the age guidance on each oil, dilute properly for any skin use, and never apply oils to a baby's face or hands.
Can I use your oils during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Some oils are fine, others are best avoided during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Each set includes guidance, and the safety notes on every product page list the oils to skip. If in doubt, ask your healthcare provider first.
Are essential oils safe around pets?
Diffuse in a ventilated room, keep sessions short and let your pet leave whenever it wants. Cats lack the liver enzyme that clears the phenols and monoterpenes in citrus, tea tree, pine, eucalyptus, peppermint and sandalwood oils, so keep those away from them. Dogs are less sensitive, but tea tree, eucalyptus, cinnamon, clove and oregano still call for care. Never apply essential oils to an animal's fur or skin, and keep bottles out of reach. Our journal has a full guide to diffusing around pets.
Do your diffusers work without water?
Yes. We carry both kinds. The Ceramic & Rubber Wood and Minimalist Wood diffusers are ultrasonic and run on water plus a few drops of oil. The CalmRide is fully waterless and runs neat oil from the bottle, and the Waterless Ceramic Diffuser & Night Light works both ways: neat oil, or 120 ml of water for a softer mist.
Can I use oils from other brands in a Scentreat diffuser?
Yes, any 100% pure essential oil works. Avoid thick carrier oils, fragrance oils or blends with additives — they can clog the ultrasonic disc and leave a residue.
