A GU10 halogen bulb, 50W. One is fitted, and two spares come free in the box. Spare 2-packs are sold here too. Stick to halogen, because LED bulbs will not melt wax.

A round disc of white marble, 6.3 in (16 cm) across. It is natural stone, so the soft veins are a little different on every lamp.
Unplug it and wait until it is cool. Dust the gold shade and pole with a soft dry cloth. Wipe the marble with a damp cloth and dry it. Avoid vinegar, lemon and strong cleaners on marble.
It has no open flame, no smoke and no soot, and the timer switches it off. The bulb and the metal dome get hot, so keep it out of reach on a steady surface.
It runs one 50W bulb, like a desk lamp. Eight hours at full light is about 0.4 kWh.
